More than Just Video Streaming
Powered by Student Potential
More and more, video is becoming an integral part of the students life. At present, video streaming sites like youtube are getting posted with new video content for every minute that runs nearly for 6 hours! And the authors of the most of these creative and engaging videos are the same kids that are in the classrooms. So why not leverage the students’ ability to create video into an experience that will enhance their desire to learn and express themselves?
Enriched by Curriculum
Unlike other solutions on the market, EduVision is more than just video streaming. Behind the video platform, JDL Horizons has developed a innovative and proven project-based-learning curriculum that guides students through the creation of media projects that demonstrate their knowledge and skills. These projects are designed to help the students to understand that finding information and relating them is more important than simply memorizing the facts. This multi-disciplinary curriculum also enables the student to do their work and take control over their own learning as they work independently and in flexible groups.
Showcased to the Community
In too many districts, the hard work and effort invested on student projects is shelved in DVD and VHS format, rarely to be seen again. JDL Horizons believes that student achievement should be celebrated and published for the enjoyment of the community, the school serves.
EduVision was created to do just that! EduVision provides a central location where the videos produced can be uploaded and showcased to family, friends and the community as a whole. Since the files are stored off-site in our datacenter, the school doesn’t need to worry about hardware, system maintenance, or bandwidth constraints!
Empowered by Sponsorship
The regions provided in the school customized page can be sold out as advertisements. EduVision’s built in advertising engine allows the school to offset the annual cost of the hosting service and, in many cases, make money! The school keeps 100% of the revenue from advertisements that is sold on the site. Additionally, EduVision sites can accept “global” advertisements that have been pre-screened by JDL Horizons as “Education-Friendly”. A percentage of the revenue from these global advertisements will be shared with the school. We always respect the decision of saying no to advertisement, these regions can be used to display images and links of own choosing ...
